Good afternoon

Thank you for signing up to receive updates about Botanical Place, West Byfleet
Site update

As we hit mid-February, progress on site is continuing to track to schedule. Ground works are fully underway, while the basement section has been completely excavated. Now that the piles are complete, the next job is fabricating and concreting the pile caps which will transfer the load of the building to the ground.

As you may know from the plans, there will be five cores which will house the lifts and staircases – two in Block A, two in Block B, and one in Block C. Work has commenced on all five, so you can expect to see these emerging from the ground shortly.

Equally as visible, columns and walls which will form to create Blocks B1 and C, the names of which are soon to be far more exciting, are starting to take form.

Naming the five buildings at Botanical Place - An update on our progress

We would like to thank all those who submitted their ideas and suggestions for naming the Botanical Place buildings. During the four-week submission period, we received an abundance of suggestions (in the hundreds). It is safe to say the project team has been pleasantly overwhelmed by the amount of engagement and positive feedback.

We are now working to collate the data and put forward the stand-out suggestions to the local authority. Once we have followed the necessary due diligence, such as checking the names to not conflict with others locally and comply with the emergency services’ standards, we will report back to you here with an outcome.

Potholes on the roads

Following your valued community feedback, we are aware of potholes on Station Approach and Madeira Road. We are working with the Higgins site management team who are in continual communication with Surrey County Council on the matter.

As a result, we are pleased to note Surrey County Council has begun to fill in these potholes. Please continue to keep us informed if any future issues arise, while we also encourage you to report potholes to the county council (responsible for infilling) using this link.
