Happy summer holidays, if like me you have weeks ahead of you with the kids at home. If not, then on behalf of all school aged parents, apologies for the extra noise in the neighbourhood, traffic on the road and the hike in prices of anything fun!

Summer holidays bring many risks which may require first aid, depending on location, weather, activities and age of dependents. My blog contains top tips for many common issues, such as burns, sprains, heat stroke, bleeds, ticks, head injuries, food poisoning and even a drunken pass out. So for a quick reminder on any of these topics, head to https://worsleytraining.co.uk/first-aid-blog/ but please remember, prevention is always better than cure!

The focus topic this edition is how to deal with a choking child, as I expect many of them will not be 'sitting on their bottoms' 100% of the time when they are eating over the next few weeks, which is the main reason that children choke on their food (for adults its laughing). It's in a multiple choice quiz format below. Let me know how you get on!

In the last edition of my "First Aid Fix" we were eagerly awaiting any sight of the 2025 Resusciation guildelines. The draft is out for approval but won't be officially published until October apparently, so all protocols remain as currently taught for now.

As always, I am posting top tips regularly on my FacebookLinkedIn  and Instagram pages, so hop onto your favourite and give us a follow. Some recent posts which may be of interest are a new Anaphylaxis nasal spray, some EYFS changes, a new CPR device, an ice pack hack and the most visible swimwear colours.

Take care of yourselves and your loved ones,

Louise
