Dear {{customFields.573887}},

We would like to make suppliers aware of an important update regarding Interventional Radiology (IR) access arrangements at both Aintree University Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

Expansion of MIA use at The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

We are pleased to announce that supplier representatives supporting activity within IR at the Royal are now also expected to register their attendance via the system, in line with existing arrangements at Aintree.

A Polite Reminder when visiting IR

Following discussions with the IR teams across both sites, we would also like to remind representatives of the expectations regarding visit activity within these clinical areas.

Where access has been granted to support a specific clinical case or procedure, visits should remain focused on that agreed activity only. Visits should not also be used to promote, introduce, or demonstrate new products unless this has been separately arranged and appropriately approved.

The departments have advised that this can create difficulties for clinical and theatre teams where products are later requested without the appropriate evaluation or procurement processes having taken place.

Each department has also expressed that representatives should refrain from contacting Consultants directly on their personal phones, especially on weekends.

Specifically for Royal Liverpool, all representatives should make a booking via the Clerical Secretaries, who will confirm or direct the visit request via the Consultant, who will then confirm with you directly.

We appreciate the support supplier representatives provide within these specialist areas and thank you for your cooperation in helping maintain clear boundaries around agreed access and activity.
