Good afternoon

Thank you for signing up to receive updates about Botanical Place, West Byfleet
Site update

Despite the challenges unsettled weather can bring, our contractor Higgins Partnerships is very pleased with the rate we are progressing against the current work schedule. We remain on course to complete Botanical Place by December 2024.

As you can see from the photos below, our buildings are starting to gain some real elevation - the main core of block B1 has reached level 4.

As we’re sure you’re aware, there are several bank holidays this month - the site team will also be taking a break and will not work on bank holiday Monday. The regular contracted working hours are as follows:

The regular contracted working hours are as follows:
Weekdays: 08.00am – 18.00pm
Saturdays: 08.00am – 13.00pm
The bulletin on the hoardings has been updated by the onsite team with the latest pictures of site progress. You can read about the work Higgins Partnerships is doing with SATRO, a charity educating young people in science, technology, business practice and associated skills. They have been funding the training and support of SATRO staff. We encourage anyone walking by to stop and have a look.

Botanical Place shortlisted for 2023 Planning Award

We are thrilled to share that Botanical Place has been shortlisted for prestigious 2023 Planning Awards. The category is Award for Fostering a Healthy Town Centre. We are immensely proud of this achievement, which is a reflection of our efforts to raise the bar for community-driven planning.

In June, an awards ceremony will be held to announce the winners. We are excited to attend and witness the recognition of the industry's best work.
Woking Borough Council’s planning department supported the nomination process by endorsing our work, sharing the following encouraging words:

"The village centre site had been in need of modernisation and revitalisation for some years, with previous efforts to redevelop the site failing to satisfy local sensitivities or meet the actual needs of the community. From the start the whole project team made a point of engaging with local groups and stakeholders.

As the planning authority, it was important for us to know that a scheme of this scale and significance took account of feedback from local people.”
