WEM26 Community

Start your weekend with a walk up Arthur’s Seat

If you’re heading to Edinburgh the day before WEM26, Resilient Minds Education is hosting a community walk on Friday 13th November with DryTrek and Eskbank Brewing Co. Meet at Holyrood Car Park at 2.30pm, ready to set off at 3pm for the summit, city views and a group photo. Afterwards, there’s a relaxed social gathering with drinks available from the brewery’s pop-up bar.

Everyone is welcome, so if you’re coming to the conference solo, it’s a lovely chance to meet people before Saturday. This is an independently organised event, which we’re happy to share with our WEM community.

Find out more and register your interest by commenting on the organisers’ post or sending them a DM.

WEM26 Headline Sponsor

From remote places on Earth to human spaceflight

Distance from definitive care, limited equipment and delayed evacuation are familiar challenges across extreme medicine. They also shape how we care for people in space.

We’re proud to welcome UCF Aerospace Medicine Program as WEM26’s headline sponsor. Based within the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, the programme explores human health and performance across aviation, space and extreme environments.

Join Emmanuel Urquieta and Ed Powers in the Biosphere on Monday 16th November, 2.30 - 3.30pm, for “Medicine at the Edge: Space, War, and Human Survival in Extreme Environments”. They’ll explore how lessons from one setting can help improve care in another.
