We have been asked to contact all representatives who may visit Prince Philip Hospital, or any hospital within Hywel Dda University Health Board in South West Wales.

With immediate effect, the Health Board is asking all visitors to register their visits as far in advance as possible when intending to access Operating Theatres or Day Surgery. This follows a change in surgical management processes, which now require patients to give explicit consent for the presence of a commercial representative in theatre, in line with the All Wales Consent Policy (section 91).

To allow departments sufficient time to obtain patient consent, visitors are requested to register their visits at least 24–48 hours in advance wherever possible.

What You Need to Know – Action Required:

The Health Board expect all commercial suppliers to have registered their visit as far in advance as possible. To ensure smooth access and to prevent any disruption to your planned visit:

Hold a valid MIA Membership
